I and one other artist, Caleb Hall - https://www.artstation.com/cahall2 spent a month working on 3D models, textures, UVs, and animations for the game MagicDoor as apart of a school assignment. Working with Caleb and the team of designers was an extremely enjoyable and enlightening experience as everybody involved was attentive, passionate about the project, and supportive of each other's efforts. The first week was spent working on blockout and base models. I took the game's two characters, Science Fiction level, and a chunk of the Jurassic Level's assets into my workload. The next week was focused around UVing and making adjustments to the models based on feedback from the team. Week 3 was fairly hectic for me outside of school, but I still managed to complete the texturing of my models, that is, beyond the robot character, as Caleb worked on the texturing and animations for that model. Caleb provided multiple base textures that he created in Substance Designer for the project and they proved to be invaluable to my work. Finally, Week 4 was focused around adjusting everything created thus far based on feedback and implementing animations for the player character and the 3 turret variations. We were allowed to use stock animations via for the humanoid player character, and I created rudimentary looking, firing, and idle animations for the turret models.
